Zirconium Crowns in Turkey

Zirconium dental crown is a treatment method that replaces lost tooth tissue by coating porcelain on a basic structure composed of zirconium alloy, zirconia. With the development of today’s technology, the ever-increasing aesthetic expectations have laid the foundation for starting to use new substances in dentistry. One of them is a porcelain restoration with a zircon base structure. Dental crowns can be used for full crowns, implant bridges and crowns, laminated veneers called leaf crowns, posterior structures and as inlay restorations. In addition, there are braces, implants and orthodontic abutments containing zircon. Due to the whiteness and light transmittance of the zirconia frame, the zirconia dental crown is natural and beautiful. It has a high compatibility with fabrics and will not cause allergic reactions. Due to the method used in the construction phase, the margin of error is close to zero. They can be prepared well. This is very difficult. The harmony of the gums is good. Due to its thermal conductivity, it does not produce sensitivity. Zirconium is one of the most frequently used materials in dental crown in Turkey treatments.

What is zirconium crowns?

Zirconium is a white material used to replace the gray metal in classic metal backing porcelain veneers and dental bridge prosthesis frames. Zirconia crown can be used for teeth that are excessively stained and cannot be corrected by whitening, in cases where orthodontic treatment cannot be applied or preferred, and in cases where confusion is observed, separation is observed in the teeth, in the old, large, and blocked Teeth, construction. Covers and bridges for anterior and posterior teeth, and dentures on implants to provide smile aesthetics. Zirconia dental crowns can be easily completed after the mandible has grown in 18-20 years. To make zirconia teeth, shave about 1-2 mm from the surface of the teeth. This shaving process is to numb the teeth, and then make a temporary tooth-shaped coating on the color and shape, thereby reducing the hot and cold whine of the teeth. In addition, the temporary covering makes the patient feel safer in social life. The zirconium crowns are tested until the patient is satisfied, and the construction process is completed in about 1 week.

How are zirconium crowns performed?

The treatment of zirconia crowns is similar to other tooth veneers. Dental crown in Turkey is performed using the latest technology. The most decisive difference between tooth veneers is of course the type of material used for veneers. As with metal backing veneers, before applying the zirconia treatment, minor corrections and adjustments are made to the teeth to be veneered. With these corrections, the teeth are usually reduced and shaped so that the coating can be accurately attached to the teeth. The zirconium dental crowns in Turkey is made with CAD/CAM technology.. In addition to the zirconia frame produced in a color suitable for the teeth, the porcelain superstructure has also been treated and harmonized with the teeth in the clinical environment. In the final stage, it is bonded to the teeth by using a special dental coating adhesive and integrated in a permanent way. If the patient has gum problems, some measures will be taken to do this. A person’s gum disease is mainly cured. Zirconia teeth can be made after human gum disease has been treated. When a tooth is lost for any reason, the adjacent tooth will begin to enter this cavity. As a result, adjacent teeth have gingival problems, bone loss due to overturning in the cavity, loss of aesthetics, and changes in chewing force. If this cavity is not repaired with implants or bridges for a long time, these adjacent teeth may also be lost. This kind of technical ceramics developed for dentistry uses smart zirconium ceramics in restoration treatment, which has made a great contribution.

Why you should choose Zirconium Crowns?

It can be said that the most popular type of dental crown is zirconium porcelain dental crowns. The procedure is the same; reduce the circumference of the tooth and make a zirconium veneer. Zirconium is a very strong white metal. It does not darken like other crowns, and it can be said to be the most beautiful and elegant finish. Porcelain can be added to increase its durability. Its light transmission is very good, but it is more sensitive than Emax crowns. It is more elegant and more expensive than metal supported crowns. Because of its natural appearance and the most ideal incisor crown, it is the most popular type of crown today. Another feature of zirconia crowns in Turkey is that they are suitable for doctors. Their corrosion resistance is also the reason why they are used in dental treatments. With the consumption of colored foods, such as tea and coffee, their color will not change. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Clinicians who wish to provide patients with excellent dental restorations often choose zirconia crowns. These crowns are chosen over conventional PFMs (Porcelain Fused to Metal) or full-gold crowns due to their superior strength, durability, and excellent aesthetics. Some dentists exclusively use zirconia over all-ceramic restorations, particularly when restoring a single tooth. Zirconia crowns require shoulder or chamfer margins for best results. They may be fabricated from solid full-contour zirconia, high translucent zirconia or layered zirconia. High translucent zirconia and layered zirconia can be either screw-retained or cemented.

Zirconia crowns are highly biocompatible, as the smooth surface helps to reduce plaque accumulation. Layered zirconia crowns are extremely durable. Even though the porcelain used for layering does not have the strength of solid zirconia, they are designed to bond with the zirconium substructure, making chipping or fracturing extremely rare. The material also promotes a healthy tissue response.

Due to a wide variety of factors including chemical composition and processing requirements, there are many ways zirconia can be manufactured to suit the needs of the patient. This customization minimizes the margin for error and ensures excellent fit for each individual.

Zirconia is suitable for patients with metal allergies or who would prefer to have metal-free restorations.

Zirconia is metal-free, which prevents darkening around the gingival area. This eliminates the possibility of metal margins becoming exposed due to gum recession.

The translucent nature of this material can transmit the color of adjacent teeth and it is manufactured in a wide variety of shades, making it easy to accurately match the color of the patient’s natural teeth.

Using computer-aided design and manufacturing processes provide patients with a precise fit, reducing the chair-side time required for adjusting and cementing these restorations.

Zirconia crowns can be conventionally cemented in place by using Bisco’s Z-Prime Plus, then applying the bonding agent of choice to prep, followed by dual-cure resin cement.

Zirconia crowns are comfortable for patients, as they do not transmit hot and cold in the same way as conventional PFMs.

For most implants, the pain is far less than you might expect from a surgery. Typically it requires only a small incision in the gums. Since bone has no nerve endings, this will create no pain. Depending on the invasiveness of your procedure, you may be given a prescription pain relief medication. If you are not prescribed pain medications, you may take an over-the-counter analgesic such as ibuprofen (Advil) of acetaminophen (Tylenol) as needed. After a day or so, any pain should be gone.

First, the tooth is reduced. The teeth are measured. With the help of a special device, custom crowns are designed and coatings are prepared. Temporary coverings are attached to the person until they are ready for these coverings. Prepared crowns are glued onto the teeth.

Does not smell any. It also does not cause any change in taste sense.

The patients can be treated in any age after the permanent teeth eruption. However, in treatments which are made until the ages of 18-20, the crowns need to be regularly renewed due to the fact that gaps between teeth is observed because of jaw growth in this stage of growth. Thus, it is not recommended.

Fractures or cracks can be seen with excessive force but this possibility is the same as the one of a natural tooth. To a large extent, it can be repaired in clinic environment. It may fall off if there is a lot of material loss in the tooth over time due to tooth decay under the crown. In such cases, the tooth is treated if possible and the crown is cemented back.

Solid zirconia, or “monolithic zirconia,” is opaque, which is why it’s generally recommended for posterior crowns. Solid zirconia contains more stabilizers than high translucent zirconia, making it more durable to withstand forceful chewing and grinding. This material is particularly suitable for patients who may grind their teeth. Only minimal clearance is required for this type of restoration, and there is low wear on opposing teeth. Solid zirconia is also very effective for masking highly discolored dental preps, specifically those that have darkened due to previous dental treatments, such as a post and core or a restored dental implant.

Layered zirconia is more translucent and opalescent, but unlike solid zirconia, it is especially suitable for anterior crowns. Although generally used for anterior crowns, layered zirconia may also be used for posterior crowns if there is sufficient clearance. When done skillfully, the very best aesthetic results can be achieved. Both solid and layered zirconia crowns have a strength and consistency that is comparable with traditional PFM restorations, yet they provide far superior aesthetics.

The disadvantages of zirconia crowns are minimal. The toughness of the material has raised some concerns about friction against the tooth root and wearing down opposing teeth. Frequent check-ups, however, help to reduce the possibility of damaging opposing teeth. Initially, only bone-white substructures could be produced for zirconia crowns, which could sometimes create problems in achieving an aesthetically-perfect appearance. Now, however, the newer generation of materials are pre-shaded and can be fabricated to provide highly aesthetic and naturally-perfect restorations with minimal tooth reduction, meeting or even exceeding patient demands for high-quality work! Currently, the demand for zirconia far exceeds the demand for PFMs, and these older-style restorations are becoming a thing of the past.

Most dental crowns last between five and fifteen years when treated with care. Their longevity will depend on your oral hygiene, among other personal habits. For example, if you grind your teeth in your sleep, you might need a replacement faster than someone who doesn’t. Other practices that will reduce your zirconia crown’s life expectancy include:

Chewing ice

Opening packages with your teeth

Biting your nails

Bad hygiene

There is no need for extra care for zirconia. Normal oral care is sufficient for the patients.

Because the crowns will be removed by being clipped, you will not feel any discomfort. Zirconium does not cause tissue loss on your teeth.

With methods used in recent years, zirconium based crowns and bridges are as durable as metal based crowns and bridges. Its fragility is much less than porcelain. In comparison with metal, it is less elastic and more fragile. This situation makes porcelain adapt more easily to zirconium than metal. As a consequence, it minimizes porcelain fractures.

Firstly, the gum disease is treated. After the treatment, it is compatible with gums in every aspect. When cutting and cementation processes are successfully completed, good results that make our patients smile can be achieved.
