Dental Implants Turkey

Dental implants in Turkey, Istanbul

As all we know, Dental implants are artificial tooth roots that made of titanium alloy. In this way, the implant acts as a fixture to hold the replacement tooth in place. If only one tooth is missing, the solution may be a single crown. If more teeth are missing, implants can also be used as anchors for larger restorations, such as crowns and bridges or removable dentures. In Turkey, dental implants are a form of treatment with a 90% to 100% success rate. Thousands of foreign patients come to Turkey for dental implant treatment. The implant system can be defined as a screw placed in the patient’s jaw during the treatment of missing teeth. These screws have a strong titanium frame. The upper part of the screw also includes a denture. The best part of dental implants in Turkey is that they do not damage other teeth. During treatment, there is no need to cut the teeth next to the tooth being treated with the implant. Implants are used as roots, just like your natural teeth, you can eat and drink without language problems, and show your smile to everyone.

What is dental implant and how it is performed?

Dental implants treatment is to place artificial tooth roots in the jaw bone to fill the missing teeth of one or more teeth. It is made of titanium material that has been used for many years and is fully compatible with the body and tissues. Titanium has very good adhesion to bones and is durable. Once the dental implants are implanted, it will fuse with the jaw bone and become a part of the body that can be used for life. There is a hole in the middle of the titanium screw. The hole corrector is sealed with a screw. Then re-sut the gums and allow them to heal for a while. An artificial tooth is fixed to the bridge as if it is covering the bridge.

Dental implant treatment in Turkey

Dental implants are artificial tooth roots placed in the jawbone to support dentures. In the case of missing teeth that damage the aesthetics and smile of the teeth, dental implants are usually the first choice. In dental implant applications, artificial tooth roots made of materials such as titanium that are compatible with body tissues are placed in the jaw bone in a sterile environment through minor surgical operations. The teeth are placed on the new roots placed. Dental implants in Turkey allow patients who have lost their teeth to laugh, talk, participate in social activities, eat well, and obtain the most natural appearance of their teeth. Implants are a treatment method suitable for patients who have lost one or more teeth. Dental defects can cause many periodontal and functional problems in patients. To be implanted, there must be a certain degree of bone. If the bone level is not appropriate, the patient must do the lower jaw first. The implant is suitable for anyone who has completed bone development. For people with chronic systemic diseases such as diabetes, heart, blood pressure, etc., implantation can be performed by taking appropriate preventive measures and consulting the patient’s doctor.

Who is not suitable for dental implant treatment?

Not all patients can have dental implant treatment in Turkey. In some cases, no implantation is appropriate. Patients with poor overall health, people with some bad habits, and patients with insufficient mandibles are not suitable for implant treatment. Generally, patients should not be prevented from using implants. People with a bad jaw may have some bone diseases that affect their bone structure. Patients with this disease will not receive implant treatment. Patients with advanced diabetes do not receive implant treatment. If diabetes is controlled, there will be no shortage of implant treatments. Patients suffering from heart disease and relying on continuous dialysis also do not receive dental implant treatment. However, it is said that patients with this disease can receive implant treatment under the supervision of a doctor if the necessary tests and examinations are appropriate. You should consult with dental clinic in Turkey before deciding on this. People with such health problems will decide whether to implant or not based on the evaluation results of the dentist and doctor.

How long does dental implant treatment take?

If there is no need for treatment or cosmetic intervention on the patient’s gums, the foil method can be used to obtain a new smile within 2-3 times. Implant treatment is defined as surgery. If the person is undergoing implant surgery, this time period can be 10 to 30 minutes. In addition, depending on the treatment time, the increase in the number of implants will be greater. Depending on the patient’s jaw, the construction time of a single implant can range from half an hour to an hour. After waiting for the implant for 3 months, once the implant no longer binds to the bone, the prosthesis will be applied once or twice.

Dental Implant lifespan

The experience of the doctor performing this treatment and the importance of the patient’s teeth, oral health, and smoking will determine the lifespan of the implant. If oral health and dental health are not considered, the life span of implants will not be very long. Dental Implants placed under proper conditions can be used for a long time. The assessment of the patient’s bone rate and its continuous monitoring are applications to prolong the life of the implant. Artificial teeth are used for dental implant treatment. If made and maintained properly, they can be used for life. The factors that will shorten the life of dental implants, without proper care, the diseases of the gums and teeth have not been resolved, just like the factors that follow. Like normal teeth, dental implants can cause negative sex.

Dental implants Turkey age limit

Dental implant treatment in Turkey is directly related to the patient’s jaw. Although there is no age limit for the implant, it is useful to implant patients who have completed bone development. Generally speaking, patients who have completed sufficient mandibular development can receive implant treatment. Children’s bone development will continue into puberty. In boys, bone development is completed between 17 and 18 years old, while in girls, bone development is between 15 and 16 years old. Patients who want to receive implant treatment at an early stage should consider this situation. Patients who want to have implants at a young age inform their dentist of their age. The dentist will perform various analyses and observe the patient’s bone development, and make a treatment plan accordingly.

Healing process of Dental Implant treatment

Once the implant is placed in the jaw, the recovery time is very short. After the implant is placed, the dentist will give the patient necessary warnings and advise the patient to wear it for a period of time. In some cases, dental implants are performed under general anesthesia. In this case, the patient will be monitored for a period of time. If applied, no problems are expected. The dental implants recovery time occurs in a short period of time. A very fast recovery of the oral tissue is achieved. Due to this characteristic, the gum suture area opened during the manufacture of the implant will soon appear. The implant installed in the maxilla is considered to have entered the healing stage from the moment of implantation. The improvement expected by dentists performing dental implant applications is to wait 3-6 months. The goal waiting for this moment is to integrate the titanium implant with the jaw. Once the jaw is completely wrapped in titanium, the implant is secured in place.

Dental Implant Cost in Turkey

Prices of dental implant in Turkey vary depending on the brand of implant used. The price information of dental implants in Turkey is provided by professional dentists after free inspection. This is a method that is applied by experienced doctors according to the regulations, and the patient also pays attention to the cleaning of the mouth and teeth, which can be permanent for life. For this reason, it is necessary to consider the factor of implant price. Because tooth loss can cause cosmetic problems, it can also cause chewing and speech problems. Aesthetics, chewing and speech function are improved by implant treatment.

Am I a Candidate for Dental Implants?

You Have Missing Teeth

There are many reasons you might lose teeth. Common causes of tooth loss include periodontal disease and facial trauma. Dental implants are a solution for tooth loss. Implants are an incredibly versatile solution, too. They can replace a single missing tooth, several missing teeth, or even an entire arch of missing teeth. Dental implants may also be discussed if you need to have one or more teeth extracted.

You Are Healthy

To get dental implants, you need to undergo surgery. To be cleared to get surgery, you have to be in good health. Certain health conditions, including heart disease and diabetes, can impact your candidacy. Just because you have one of these conditions, however, this does not mean you cannot get implants. The condition will first need to be well-controlled. Placing implants when your condition is not well-managed can cause complications during surgery as well as during recovery. It can also impact the success of the treatment.

In addition to your overall health, your oral health also plays a role. If you have any oral health conditions, such as periodontal disease or cavities, these conditions will need to be treated. Otherwise, your risks for infections and implant failure increase significantly.

Your Jawbone Is In Good Shape

The condition of your jawbone plays a significant role in your candidacy for implants. Your jawbone fuses to the implant posts as you heal, stabilizing them so they can provide secure support for your replacement teeth. However, after tooth loss, your jawbone begins to lose bone mass and weaken. If you lose too much bone mass, your jawbone cannot fuse to the implant posts properly, or at all. This can result in loose implant posts or total implant failure.

If your jawbone is too weak during your initial consultation, you may be recommended for a bone graft. This is a surgical procedure that involves transplanting bone material from another area of your body, or a compatible donor, to the weak areas of your jawbone. Once healed from this surgery, we can begin the implant process.

You Are An Adult

You are never too old for dental implants. Many older patients mistakenly believe that they are too old to enjoy the many benefits that implants have to offer. This just is not true. So long as you meet other requirements, it does not matter how old you are. It is important to keep in mind, though, that you can be too young.

Dental implants are not recommended for children or teens who lose a permanent tooth. This is because the jawbone is still growing and developing. It continues to do so until your late teens to early 20s. Placing an implant in an underdeveloped jaw can cause complications. If your child has lost a permanent tooth, another treatment, such as a bridge, should be used. Once the jaw has stopped growing, your child can then consider getting an implant.

You Do Not Drink Or Smoke

During your initial consultation, you will be questioned about your lifestyle habits, particularly your drinking and tobacco habits. Alcohol use can affect the ability of your blood to clot, which can cause issues during surgery. Smoking and other tobacco products can affect oxygen in your blood and slow your blood flow. This can slow the healing process, which greatly increases your risk of infections.

Additionally, cigarettes and other tobacco products can interfere with your immune system, which also increases your infection risk. Alcohol and tobacco use do not mean you cannot get implants. You will be recommended to quit these habits before surgery. Quitting for good is ideal. However, if you are unable to quit smoking completely, you should at least quit for the duration of your treatment.

Dental Implants Steps

Are you getting ready for a dental implant? Make sure you take a look at this guide to learn about the dental implant steps and what you can expect…. When you get dental implants, you are replacing the tooth roots with tooth posts made of metal. These dental posts are like screws for artificial teeth. Implants are a little different than some bridges or crowns because they function and look like real teeth.

How your dentist performs the dental procedure depends on the implant you need, if you have any allergic reaction, and the condition of the jawbone. You may have to have several dental procedures so that your bone can heal properly around the implant. This healing could take time but will support the new tooth securely.

Step 1: Initial Evaluation

Your dentist or oral surgeon will first do a comprehensive examination to determine the best to determine the condition of your jawbone and the best dental implant procedure. This initial evaluation includes X-rays, taking impressions, and matching the color of your teeth to make your implant look as natural as possible.

You will determine how many teeth you want to replace with implants, which could take some additional planning with other dental specialists, like periodontists, depending on your oral health condition.

You will also discuss all your medical conditions and medications. Depending on your condition or orthopedic implants, you may need to take antibiotics before the surgery to avoid infection.

Step 2: Tooth Extraction

If you still have a remaining tooth that needs replacing, your dentist will remove it before the dental work is performed. You can have this done at the same time as the implant insertion.

Your dentist will discuss anesthesia options. Most likely, your dentist will use a local anesthetic of novocaine (or lidocaine) to feel numb and take away any pain. It shouldn’t take long to remove the tooth unless it’s fractured.

You will just feel a little tug and pressure while the tooth is extracted. After you get the extraction, you should avoid blowing your nose, smoking, spitting excessively, or drinking through a straw. These actions can create a dry socket and pain.

Step 3: Inserting the Dental Implant and Bone Grafting

There are two types of dental implants : one where the implant is inserted into your jawbone and the other that goes directly under the gumline. Let’s discuss if you have the implant added to your jawbone. If your current jawbone is strong and thick enough, you may not need to get any extra bone added.

Your jaw needs to be strong because there is a lot of pressure when you chew, and you need your bone to be strong to protect that implant. If your jaw needs some extra bone, this bone typically comes from another area of your jawbone away from the implant area.

You may have to let the bone heal first if you have a graft before you can add the implant. Once the bone heals, the dentist or surgeon will add the implant.

After the implant is added to your jawbone, the jawbone will begin to grow around the implant. The implant then becomes part of your natural gum line. This process varies by person and can take anywhere from 3 to 9 months.

Step 4: Abutment Placement

Once your implant is stable enough, the dentist will place an abutment on top of the implant. This piece connects the implant to your crown. The abutment needs to be tightened so it stays in place when you eat.

You will not feel anything during this procedure other than a little pressure. You will get local anesthesia to that area.

Sometimes the abutment can be placed at the same time as the implant since it goes past the gum line. It will be visible, so you will need to discuss how to mask this piece since it will show when you smile. The dentist will add a healing cap to keep the tissue and bone from growing overtop of the abutment.

Step 5: Adding the Permanent Crown

After your gums heal, your dentist will make your artificial tooth or crown. You can choose to have a removable implant or permanent. If you are having multiple teeth in the back just like removable dentures, you may want the removable option so you can clean and replace if needed.

You can’t remove a fixed implant to replace or to clean. It is permanently screwed in the abutment or glued down with cement.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

A dental implant by itself is not a tooth! A dental implant is a prosthesis used to replace missing teeth. Essentially, it is a small titanium post/fixture that is inserted into the jawbone, on top of which a single crown (cap), a fixed bridge, a partial denture, or full denture can be attached. Once the implant integrates to your bone, a structure called an abutment is connected to the implant and then the artificial tooth/teeth are attached. Therefore, there are 3 parts to an “implant tooth”: the dental implant itself, the abutment, and the artificial tooth.

It varies from individual to individual and with health and habits. For a healthy individual with good oral hygiene and good health, dental implants are predictably successful with reported success rates above 90-95 percent.

All-on-4® Dental Implant is a trademarked treatment procedure that essentially involves replacement of all missing teeth in one jaw by using only 4 implants. This procedure is especially beneficial in patients who have lost a lot of bone in the back areas of the mouth.

Most people find dental implant surgery very easy to tolerate. Any post-operative discomfort can usually be managed with over-the-counter anti-inflammatory medication such as ibuprofen or OTC pain-relievers. Ice can also be helpful.

Strictly speaking, implants can’t be rejected because they contain no living cells or genetically coded material. The titanium of which they are made is completely biocompatible, and allergies are extremely rare. But an implant can fail to integrate with the jawbone if an infection develops in the absence of good oral hygiene, or if it is subjected to biting forces too soon. However, this is rare; implants regularly achieve success rates in excess of 95%.

There is the need for the implants to attach to the bone by a process which was originally described as osseointegration. The length of time for this waiting period varies with the quality of bone that is present where the implants were placed.

Each case varies regarding how many implants are needed for the demands of replacing the missing teeth. If the implant surgeon is limited regarding the length of implants that can be placed, more implants will be needed. The length of the implants is determined by how much bone you have present. The number of implants is also dependant on the final restoration that is required and the number of teeth that are to be replaced.

The dentist places dental implants in your jaw by making precise holes in your bone so that they fit snuggly. They do this where your teeth are missing but where you have adequate bone to hold the dental implants. In some cases, it’s possible for them to place dental implants on the same day your dentist extracts your teeth. Typically, however, it takes around three to six months of healing before you can have your implant placed.

The average implant process occurs in multiple steps. You may require more than one healing stage. So, there’s a varied healing period, depending on your health, how many teeth you need replacing and other factors. However, the healing process generally takes anywhere from six to 12 weeks.

Age is not a factor for dental implant success. Bone healing around dental implants occurs in patients from the 6th to the 10th decade of life with almost equal success as in younger patients. The only thing to stand in the way of dental implant treatment in the elderly is general medical health, your Devonshire House dentist can discuss this with you at your consultation.

Improved appearance: When you lose the entire tooth – crown and root – shrinkage of the intra-oral bone may cause your face to look older. Dental implants can stop this process. A traditional denture or dental bridge does not.

Preserve natural teeth: With traditional dental bridges, teeth adjacent to missing teeth are normally ground down to be used as anchors for a dental bridge. Dental implants often eliminate the need to modify healthy teeth.

Permanent solution: There are no loose parts to worry about losing. The dental implant is stable and comfortable.  Normally, it will serve its owner for a very long time, often even for life.

It is normal to have some bruising and swelling in the gum and soft tissues. But usually the discomfort, if any, is treated with a prescription from your doctor. You should expect to be able to work within 1-3 days depending on the treatment required.

In general, the cost of replacing a single tooth with a dental implant is almost the same as replacing it with a regular fixed bridge. Dental implant treatment may qualify for some insurance coverage, but situations vary. The cost will vary by patient needs, bone quantity, and region.

Unlike natural teeth, dental implants are not susceptible to dental disease such as decay; however, the health of the gums is vital to maintaining lasting implant success. Conscientious home care by the patient and regular professional cleanings and check-ups are essential elements for dental implant sustainability. Each patient is different, and success relies upon diagnosis and planning, medical history, and a variety of other factors.

Actually implants are most popularly used in patients who wear full dentures or partial dentures. Dental implants can be used to provide retention and support for a removable implant overdenture, which basically snaps on the implants! Therefore the partial or full denture does not move and reduces the dependency on denture adhesives/denture glue. Or, dental implants can be used for a fixed denture, where a patient’s dentures are fixed/bolted to the implants through titanium components. Only the dentist can remove this from the mouth.

They require exactly the same care as natural teeth: daily brushing and flossing, along with regular dental checkups and professional cleanings. Although implant teeth will never decay, the gum tissues around them can become inflamed or infected in the absence of good oral hygiene. Properly cared-for dental implants should last a lifetime.

There’s a good chance that you are, but this can only be determined after a complete oral examination that includes x-rays of your jaws. Please schedule a consultation to begin the exciting process of restoring your smile and bite.

The key to successful implants is the quality and quantity of bone and we sometimes have to provide a replacement for a deficiency of bone and this usually takes the form of a small augmentation around the neck of the implant. Depending on the size of this deficiency, we can usually carry this out at the same time as implant placement.

Dental implants are usually placed under local anaesthetic in a very gentle manner. Following this you should expect a degree of discomfort and swelling for several days, but you will be able to continue normally fairly soon afterwards. Full after care advice is given following this procedure and if you are in any doubt we provide a telephone number where we can be contacted to offer you reassurance and advice.

This depends on the complexity of the case but usually a single implant can be placed in approximately an hour. This will depend on the amount of additional work required in terms of any bone grafting or work required on your gum.

First, you shouldn’t smoke. Smoking causes gum disease and recession, which makes the dental implant structure weak over time. Therefore, you should not smoke or chew tobacco.

Yes, you can and it will change your life. With dental implants you avoid the pain and embarrassment of dentures.

Your teeth will not slip or fall out

You won’t need to avoid any activities

You won’t need to worry about what you eat

There are no clasps, clips or plastic covering the top of your mouth.

Today, state-of-the-art surgical techniques are utilized to place dental implants and often allow you to have the dental implant placed in a single session and/or at the time of tooth extraction. This method has significantly simplified the procedure, for both patients and dentists. The major advantage of immediate dental implant placement is the decreased overall healing time prior to a patient receiving their final restoration.

The conventional process can take 8 or more months assuming a tooth is extracted,  left to heal for 4 months, and then after dental implant placement another 4 months healing is required. Immediate dental implant placement at the time of tooth extraction can cut that healing time in half and many anterior esthetically demanding cases also receive immediate temporization of the dental implant the same day as surgery.

The procedure chosen depends on several factors such as your dental health, the volume of available bone, the presence of infection, the number of teeth involved and which teeth are replaced. These factors will also determine the total number of visits to the periodontist/dentist throughout the treatment period.

The amount, quality and location of bone

The number of dental implants you’ll need to support the teeth

The number of teeth that need replacing

The type of artificial teeth the dentist will use

The types of dental implants used

This is something you can discuss with your dentist during your initial consultation.
